The May 23, 2010 session of the Portland branch of DR. SKETCHY’S ANTI-ART SCHOOL is in the history books.
Through a special partnership with Portland burlesque revue THE ROYAL TEASE, we were able to feature ”The Living Embodiment of Burlesque” – the stunning and (literally) infamous KITTEN DEVILLE.
Yes, that’s right. The one and only Miss Kitten DeVille was in Portland to perform at the May 22nd Royal Tease, and she stuck around to model for Sketchy PDX Art Monkeys with their eager eyes and perspicacious pencils in the 3rd-floor Speakeasy at BOSSANOVA BALLROOM.
Dr. Sketchy’s Portland is presented by Baby Tattoo Books and Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School.
Founded in 2005 by artist Molly Crabapple, Dr. Sketchy’s asked a simple question: Why can’t drawing naked people be sexy? The answer is… it can. Dr. Sketchy’s live figure drawing provides a unique opportunity for artists and art lovers to gather on a regular basis to create and celebrate art in a creative environment.
